Dr. McCoy is usually at Northeast Columbia and Dr. Zerener is usually at West Columbia, and the front desk tells you who you are booked with. With only two dentists in the practice, the one treating you already knows what worries you and can plan around it.

Both offices handle routine care and the bigger work, so a problem found at a cleaning usually does not mean a referral somewhere else.
Cleanings, exams, digital X-rays and oral cancer screenings, so small problems get caught while they are still small.
Treatment for gum disease, from a full periodontal screening at your first visit through to ongoing therapy on a shorter recall.
Fillings, crowns and bridges to repair teeth affected by decay, wear or a fracture.
Work aimed at how your smile looks as well as how it functions, planned around what you actually want to change.
Clear aligners rather than brackets and wires. Dr. McCoy is Invisalign certified.
Professional whitening, with results and expectations discussed before you start.
Treatment for an infected or badly damaged tooth so it can be saved rather than pulled.
Full and partial dentures, plus relines, for replacing missing teeth. Both are covered by the savings plan discount.
Extractions including wisdom teeth, handled in the office by a dentist you already know.
No Dental Insurance
The practice runs its own savings plan for patients with no dental insurance, so a cleaning and an exam are not something you have to put off. You pay once for the year and the preventive work is already covered.

We also accept CareCredit if you would rather spread a larger treatment over time. This plan cannot be combined with any other discount or dental insurance.
$460 per adult, per year
$350 per child, per year. Coverage runs 365 days from your start date.

There is very little we do not take, so the names below are examples rather than the whole list. Call or send the form and the front desk will verify your specific policy before you come in.

Medicare supplement plans. We are in-network with supplement plans from Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Humana. Send us your policy details and we will confirm your coverage and help you use the full benefit.
What we cannot take. We do not participate with Medicaid or with a few federal plans. We would rather tell you now than after you have taken time off work.
Your Dentist
Both studied at the University of South Carolina before dental school. Each of them spends one day a week at the other office, so the front desk will confirm who you are booked with when they call.
Northeast Columbia
She grew up in South Carolina and has put many hours into root canal work, so that treatment is handled here rather than referred out.
West Columbia
He earned a Master’s in Secondary Education before dental school, which shows in how much of an appointment he spends explaining things.

Your First Visit
The first appointment is a full workup rather than a quick look, because a treatment plan is only worth anything if it is built on the whole picture. This is the order it runs in.
Reception walks you through the paperwork and takes your medical history. Nobody rushes this part.
You have a full series of digital X-rays taken, then a periodontal screening with the hygienist so we know where your gum health actually stands.
The dentist examines your teeth and gums thoroughly, asks about your habits and listens to whatever has been bothering you.
You leave with a written treatment plan, your options explained, financing discussed and your next appointment booked. You will know what things cost before you agree to anything.

Our in-office savings plan is $460 a year for an adult and $350 for a child, and it covers 2 cleanings, 2 exams, 2 fluoride treatments, 2 oral cancer screenings, a full set of X-rays and an emergency exam, with 20% off most other treatment. Coverage runs 365 days from your start date. It cannot be combined with dental insurance or another discount. We also accept CareCredit.
Yes. You get a written treatment plan with your options and the cost, and we go through financing before anything is scheduled.
Twice a year for most people. Patients being treated for gum disease usually come four times a year, and we will explain why if that applies to you. Children should be seen by their first birthday or when the first tooth appears.
The office uses digital X-rays, which carry less radiation than you already get from a normal day outdoors. They show cavities, infections and bone loss that an exam on its own cannot.
